Reed Travel Exhibitions has been showing World Travel Market (WTM) exhibitors around Excel in a bid to ease the planned move from Earls Court in November 2002. Five trips have been organised, with the final one concluding later this month. Bodies including the Association of National Tourist Offices and the Caribbean Tourist Organisation were in attendance. Exhibitors will also be invited to tour the venue during this year’s WTM at Earl’s Court. “The benefits of having this trip outweigh any commercial literature and it really makes a difference,” said Reed WTM event manager Graeme Barnett. “It gives them an overview of the exhibition venue and helps them visualise how the show will look in 2002. “It’s a very big move and people don’t always like change but this gives us an opportunity to explain why we’re moving,” he added. “The venue gives us more space and that’s not just for the exhibition. For example there are more meeting rooms and it helps us develop and evolve the product for the 21st century.” WTM has signed a ten-year deal with Excel.
