The appointment is aimed at providing a central point for WRG’s technical capabilities, enabling the continuous improvement of technical output across all live events.
Johnstone’s remit will also involve managing long-term supplier relationships and leading the agency’s capabilities in health and safety. Johnstone brings over 12 years experience to the role, and has lead the technical delivery of major corporate events and exhibitions all over the world for clients like Cisco, Google and Ford.
Johnstone said: "I’ve had the privilege of working with some exceptionally talented teams over the years, delivering creatively-led events and experiences for global brands. I’m excited to be joining WRG as the momentum builds at this pivotal time. I look forward to providing leadership, championing technical innovation and driving a commercially-minded culture as I work to support the live events team."
Tim Williams, operations director at WRG added: "I am delighted that Dave is joining the team, with his wealth of technical experience he will provide a new centre to WRG’s production offer and unquestionably assist WRG to continue to deliver technical excellence and realise our creative ambitions on behalf of our clients in a safe, efficient and cost effective way."
Johnstone is the latest in several appointments this year at WRG across its creative and production departments. In January, WRG appointed Sallie Coventry to the role of client engagement director.
