She joins from JLA Media, a PR consultancy that works within the global maritime and energy industries. The new recruit has also worked across international markets, heading up the marketing and communications department at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) in China.
Eyles said: "I’m thrilled to join WRG at such an exciting stage in the development of the business and on such a prestigious account.
"I hope that my industry knowledge will contribute another dimension to the capabilities of WRG, blending with the formidable skills of the existing team to evolve the service offering we can deliver to clients like Shell."
She continued: "For me it is all about understanding a client’s business, not only the way they do business themselves but also the way in which their clients and other stakeholders do. Gaining this insight allows the formation of truly effective communication strategies that add to the success of a business. WRG is renowned for delivering beyond the expectations of their clients and I’m looking forward to being a part of this team."
Danny van Otterdyk, head of communications production at Shell, added: "We’re looking forward to working with Nicola and the wealth of experience she will bring to the agency-client relationship."
WRG recently recruited a healthcare communications director, to build on its presence within the pharmaceuticual sector.
