The World Scout Jamboree, billed as the UK’s biggest youth mass participation event until the 2012 Olympics, will attract almost 30,000 scouts, 12,000 scout leaders and potentially 80,000 day visitors when it takes place from 27 July to 8 August at Hylands Park in Essex.
Sponsors are being sought for a range of activities in three planned zones: Mountain for climbing, abseiling and caving equipment; Energise for arts, crafts, relaxation therapies and sports; and Motion for bikes, trampolines and go-karts.
The Scout badge partnership is another marketing opportunity. Badges can be tailor-made for particular brands, with activity packs incorporating relevant topics and skills. As Event went to press, 70 badges were available for sponsorship.
