Where is it? Whitfield Street Studios, one of London's most legendary musical venues, is located in the heart of the West End.
What is it? One of the most prominent recording, mixing and mastering facilities in the world. The four studios and seven post-production and mastering rooms in this purpose-built complex occupy a significant place in the annals of popular music, and have continuing importance in the arenas of pop, rock, dance, classical, orchestral and soundtracks.
Anything Else? The creative events space is known as Studio One, where artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Ozzy Osbourne, The Who, Madonna and Iggy Pop have recorded inspirational tracks. As a party venue, Studio One's 223sqm space, complete with a 10 metre-high ceiling and wooden floor, allows for sit-down events for up to 200 guests or a reception for 400. There is direct access from a car park at the rear of the building for loading and unloading and a special room for caterers to use. The studio has no ties with specific event co-ordinators, caterers or suppliers so clients can bring in their own teams, but it can offer recommendations if required.
Who's been there? As a new event venue the list of potential suitors is growing by the day. If Whitfield Street Studio's illustrious list of musicians is not enough to entice companies to host parties there, the fact that landmark producers including William Orbit, Fred Jerkins, Brian Eno and Mike Ross-Trevor have all conjured up aural magic from behind the faders will surely seal the deal.
How do I get there? The venue is located behind Oxford Street on Whitfield Street, just a few minutes' walk from Tottenham Court Road, Goodge Street and Warren Street tube stations. There is also a private car park for five vehicles.
Who should I talk to? Client services manager Jo Harrison can deal with enquiries regarding the booking of Studio One. Telephone (020) 7299 4877 or email her at email@example.com.
