Lumiere London

One of the most-hyped events of the year (so, the last two weeks) is Lumiere London - a city-wide art installation featuring all things bright and beautiful. Creative group Artichoke is behind the event, which will see buildings across the capital accessorised with colourful installations.

Expect to see Leicester Square transformed into an exotic tropical garden and Oxford Circus lit by an artwork of knotted twine from above.

When: 14-17 January

Where: Locations throughout London

Visit Florida

Visit Florida is targeting those seeking the sun in the midst of gloomy January with a bright pink tuc-tuc activation. The destination brand is handing out gifts and information from the vehicle, which is being used and branded differently by a different Visit Florida partner each day.

This Friday will see the tuc-tuc pull into Broadgate in association with Daytona International Speedway at Fulcrum.

When: 15 January

Where: 1-2 Exchange Arcade, London EC2M 3WA

Underground Film Club’s David Bowie tribute

The Rooftop Film Club’s winter-appropriate venture, the Underground Film Club, is celebrating the life of the late David Bowie with a special screening of the film Labyrinth, in which the singer starred. Back-to-back Bowie anthems will be played in Smokey Joe’s Bar once the film has ended.

Mixologist group Spirited Mixers will serve up drinks to be enjoyed alongside street food curated by Hawksmoor’s Richard Sandiford. All profits from the evening will be donated to LGBT charity Stonewall.

When: 16 January

Where: The Vaults, Launcelot Street, Waterloo, SE1 7A
