Weekender: Lenovo's tattoo parlour, Yelp and Renault

This weekend (22-24 April) sees Lenovo offer a tattoo service that is perfect for commitment phobes, Yelp take over Brixton, and Renault offer Londoners the chance to experience a test drive with a difference.

Illuminated Ink will give Londoners a chance to ‘try before they buy’ by projecting tattoo art onto their skin using Lenovo's new Yoga Tab 3 Pro. James King from Inklectic Tattoos has created a series of designs for the event, and he will discuss the collabouration at the VIP opening on Thursday (21 April). Entry is free, with opening hours to 11am to 5pm. All attendees must be over 18.

Yelp’s Brixton takeover

This weekend urban directory Yelp is taking over Brixton – the birthplace of Franco Manca – as part of a six-day event celebrating the foodie hub. Armed with a map from the Secret Brixton HQ, visitors can unearth special offers and hidden menus at over 30 local businesses. There are also free events to enjoy courtesy of Yelp, including Friday’s street party at the new Brixton Food Court.

Renault’s Twingo test-drive

Car brand Renault is hitting the streets of London with 70 Twingo models this week. Until Saturday, Londoners can enjoy a free test drive in one of the cars, or simply take a trip in the passenger seat. The vehicles will tour various locations across the capital, including the Westfield Stratford City shopping centre, Battersea Park and the Excel London.

Buxton’s Lane of Heroes

As part of its sponsorship of this year’s London Marathon, mineral water brand Buxton has created its own track, the ‘Lane of Heroes’. Here, 15 runners will get the chance to complete an 80-metre section of the race alongside their loved ones. Those involved were picked following a competition on Buxton’s Twitter page. Other brands activating at the race include Lucozade Sport and London Pride.

When: 24 April

Where: Mile 12 on the London Marathon route (near Bermondsey Station)
