Attendance at French event services show Heavent has jumped by almost 10%. The 2003 exhibition, which took place from 18-20 Nov-ember at the Hippodrome de Longchamp in Paris, attracted 9,985 visitors and 300 exhibitors. The share of European visitors from outside France doubled to 8%. New exhibitors included two entertainment companies that promoted their musical offers to event organisers. Clear Channel Entertainment showcased performances from its Tap Dogs and Gum Boots shows, while Spirit of the Dance showcased Rock Legends and Broadway. The rise in visitors comes as organiser Heavent Expo gears up to launch a regional spin-off. Heavent Sud will run from 7-9 April at the Palais des Festivals et des Congres in Cannes and showcase event services, venues and suppliers from the south of the country. Heavent Expo managing director Romuald Gadrat said: “Southern Europe holds enormous potential for event organisers.”
