UK trio net ISES awards in US

Three UK member companies of the International Special Events Society (ISES) scooped accolades at the annual Special Events Gala Awards ceremony in Las Vegas last month.

Agency Moving Venue Management won Best Event in the under $250,000 category, caterer Create Food & Party Design won Best Multiple Day Event for a Corporation and agency Imagination won the award for Best Invitation.

Create was rewarded for its service during Christmas 2002 for sister company The Ultimate Experience.

Create director Richard Groves said: "We catered for more than 25,000 guests at six venues in 25 days and delivered a consistently high standard of service."

A crowd of more than 1,000 people from all over the world attended the US ceremony including a 42-strong delegation from the UK division of the global trade body. ISES UK president Arthur Somerset said: "This is further indication of a healthy future for UK events as British companies continue to compete and win on a global scale."

- ISES has signed agency Jack Morton Worldwide to speak at its Regional Education Conference next month. David Zolker, director of public events, and Henry Simonds, senior account director, will discuss the event's headline theme, The Value of Events - Maximising Impact, at Excel on 11 March.

Other speakers confirmed for the one-day conference include London 2012 chief operating officer Mike Power and Eurostar Group director of communications Paul Charles.
