UK racetracks launch 2004 hospitality offer

Motor-racing circuits Silverstone and Brands Hatch have unveiled hospitality packages for 2004.

Suite holders at Silverstone will receive pit lane passes, a minimum of 24 guest tickets and access to Formula 1 test days not normally open to members of the public. Individual suites at both circuits can be personalised and accommodate up to about 40 people. Silverstone plays host to almost 50 racing events during 2004 including the Foster’s British Grand Prix in July and the World Superbikes Championship in late March. The track has taken sales for the Grand Prix in-house and Arena Events is no longer the sole supplier. Silverstone group sales manager Caroline McEleney said: “The suites provide a fantastic environment for generating business leads or cementing relationships.” Brands Hatch is offering packages to view the British Touring Car Championship in April, two rounds of the British Superbike Championship and a further 40 weekend racing events. The British Grand Prix is having to be rescheduled for a second time. It was originally moved from 4 to 11 July to avoid a clash with the final of football’s European Championships in Portugal and the men’s singles final at Wimbledon. But the new date sparked fears of traffic chaos as it clashes with the British Motorcycle Grand Prix, just 40 miles from Silverstone at Donington Park. By Ben Cardew
