The logo of Tobacco Dock’s new catering arm has been removed from marketing materials such as its website and social media pages.
Jonathan Read, the commercial director at Tobacco Dock, told Event: "Tobacco Dock’s lawyers advised that although the allegations made had little merit, it was not worth the cost or time to defend an action. Consequently, we have amended the visual identity of Tobacco Dock Food to avoid any confusion with that of The London Kitchen."
Damian Clarkson, managing director of The London Kitchen, said: "We have always retained an intellectual property practice to protect our good name and the value of our franchise in the Middle East and the UK.
"My advice for everyone is simple – safeguard your brand and identity at all costs and before something happens, not afterwards."
Earlier this month Event reported that The London Kitchen had claimed the logo used by Tobacco Dock Food was an alleged copyright infringement, with Tobacco Dock rebutting the claims.
