The event will see three competition winners, who have been encouraged to dress as their favourite animal, board a cable car at the Emirates Greenwich Peninsula terminal in London.

They are to be accompanied by Clary, who will read extracts from his new children's book The Bolds to the Rescue over a 20-minute period, offering guests the chance to preview the publication prior to its official release on World Book Day (3 March).

To be in with a chance to take part in the experience, members of the public were required to submit their answer to a specific animal-themed question by 28 February. Three runners-up will also receive a signed copy of the novel.

Danny Price, head of Emirates Air Line, said: "We’re thrilled to be working with Julian Clary to host an intimate storytelling of this brilliant children’s book to celebrate World Book Day. The cable car is a great attraction for children and families and this will be a fantastic event for the lucky winners to enjoy."

Clary added: "How exciting to read parts of my new book, The Bolds to the Rescue, in such a scenic location. World Book Day is a great way to encourage children to enjoy reading, and I hope this event is a day to remember for the lucky winners."

TfL announced its plans for a pop-up festival series at London's Old Street Station earlier this year, and the company also recently revealed a new partnership with charity Sport Relief.
