Tarsus half-year profits up

A strong performance in the US has seen Tarsus Group report a £1m increase in profits for January to June.

The organiser launched two profitable US shows for the packaging and labelling sectors during the period.

European revenues rose by 70% compared with £3.3m in 2004, helped by acquisitions in France. Revenue from UK operations increased from £1m to £1.6m largely due to new media and labelling publishing interests.

Tarsus chairman Neville Buch said: "The group's main events take place in the second half of the year and with exhibition bookings for the year to date now standing at 95% of our forecast, revenue visibility is high."
