Stars support quake benefit

The Royal Albert Hall played host to the Pakistan Earthquake Appeal Concert and Fashion Show on 13 December, organised by Asia House and promoter the Asian Music Circuit in association with the Pakistan Britain Trade and Investment Forum. More than 4,000 people attended the benefit event, including Pakistan High Commissioner Maleeha Lodi, Nancy Dell’Olio, girlfriend of England coach Sven-Göran Erikson, ex-Eastenders actor Nick Bailey, and Bend it Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha. The fashion show featured a range of designs by Monsoon, and model Gemma Kidd organised the hair and make-up stylists. Socialites Lisa B, Tamara Beckwith, Yasmin Le Bon and Yasmin Mills were just some of the celebrity figures who modelled the clothes. Other features of the show included performances from south Asian musicians Ghulam Ali, Pakistan pop stars Fakhir and Sajjad Ali and Sofia Hayat.
