The event will pit the country’s best freestyle football players against each other for the chance to represent the UK in the Red Bull Street Style World Final in Italy later this year.
The players will need to impress the judges with their ball skills, while a massive crowd of spectators is expected at the market to roar on the contestants.
Old Spitalfields Market will also play host to Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair on 7 May. The Judy’s team – with the help of special guest judges – will be distributing prizes and vouchers to the best-dressed spectators on the day.
"We are delighted to have secured Red Bull at Old Spitalfields Market," said Ellie Barnatt, event manager at Wellington Market Company, which manages Old Spitalfields Market for developers Ballymore. "It’s one of the flagship events for the brand, which will not only benefit from the footfall that we enjoy at the market, but also from the attraction of Judy’s Vintage Fair."
Event reported last month that Alexandra Palace will host the BMX contest Red Bull Empire of Dirt on 19-20 May 2012.
