A software package for the exhibition visitor could spell the end of brochure fatigue and open up more promotional channels for exhibitors, according to Lawton eMarketing director Steve Sponder. Lawton eMarketing has launched Beampoint, a package based on a program that automates the wireless transfer of information to a pocket PC, palm compatible device or personal digital assistant (PDA). This could enable exhibition visitors to collect an electronic synopsis of information from each stand as they pass by, which is then stored on their PDA. “The software is able to deliver information to any receiving PDA that is held within the infrared sending beam,” Sponder said.
