Snow forces National Motorcycle Show cancellation

The National Motorcycle Show, expected to start tomorrow (9 January), has been cancelled because of the much-documented cold snap.

Heavy snow in the area surrounding venue Manchester Central, and across the country, meant 45 exhibitors pulled out of the event. Organisers said the lack of exhibitors made it untenable.

"We have also lost various bike displays and other exhibits, as well as the stunt shows," said show director Howard Cartledge. "Rather than put on half a show, we would rather bring it back to Manchester in a couple of months."

Organisers said April was a possible date for the show and that advance ticket holders could be refunded.

The event, also known as the Manchester Bike Show, was to include an indoor freestyle arena, dealers and dealer-approved used bikes, as well as a motorcycle trial-riding display by Steve Colley.
