Clearview is touted by developer Arena Seating as the first system of its kind - a parabolic, reconfigurable seating design. This, for those whose GCSE physics is a distant memory, means the rows are curved and each can be altered to deliver optimum sightlines. The layout uses a system of variable geometry to create the parabolic profile essential to guarantee a great view of the action, even from many rows back. It is also lightweight and uses recyclable aluminium components.

Devon-based Luminati Waycon specialises in acrylic fabrication and machining, and offers exhibition display concepts. These range from plinths, shelving systems, lightboxes and magazine stands to frosted display cubes and display cases with built-in lighting and a lockable inner cabinet. The exhibition applications are self-evident, and while Luminati Waycon also manufactures in PVC, polycarbonate and other substances, the impact-resistant, lightweight, recyclable acrylic remains the flagship material.

Bluetooth hasn't quite invaded our lives like many thought it would, but in the world of live events there may still be applications capable of giving the technology a boost. This small-scale Bluetooth unit can transmit pictures, audio, movie clips, ringtones, mobile games and business cards to the phones of passing potential customers from a range of 30 metres, or up to 60 metres with the aid of an aerial. The Video Billboard model can transmit Bluetooth messages while also feeding graphics and video to a plasma screen. The units cost between £1,000 and £2,000.

We always knew those table-top space invader consoles were ahead of their time. The HandyTouch interactive table from Handy AV revives the concept while moving the technology on by some distance. The table can be custom-made, from a size of 40", with an integral screen that uses toughened glass. It is also resistant to moisture, dirt, water spillage and condensation. At an event it could be used as a wayfinding system, public information point or internet terminal, or even as a roulette or black jack table.
