Seven brand experiences at Cannes Lions

The Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity is about more than just the seminars. Check out what the likes of Facebook, Google and Microsoft have planned during the event (21-27 June).

Eurosport – Beach Soccer Tournament

Broadcaster Eurosport will be teasing the competitive streaks out of the marketing world when it hosts its mini world cup on the beach. Guests are welcome to watch teams from countries such as the UK, Russia, Argentina and Japan battle it out for the winner’s title.

When: 23 June, 9am-5pm; 24 June, 11am and 3pm

Microsoft Beach Club

Microsoft will be opening its club to all delegates every afternoon of the festival for the first time. The hut will host talks from innovators, in collaboration with the Fast Company, and interactive experiences with new tech such as HoloLens.

Facebook – Hacker Square on the Beach

Facebook and its sister brand Instagram will be teaching delegates how to use the technologies to their full potential, all the while overlooking the ocean. The activation also promises to provide a place where guests can relax, recharge and learn about how the brand’s apps and services can be used to market goods and services.

When: 22-25 June, 10am-12.30pm; 2-4pm; 6-9pm

Yahoo and Tumblr – Digital Art Installation

Yahoo and Tumblr have joined forces to create art for the guests of Cannes. The piece will utilise digital tech and aims to celebrate creativity and ‘successful brand expressions’ across the two websites. It will be available to view at all times of day.

LinkedIn Clubhouse

LinkedIn’s clubhouse promises a pocket of calm for gold and platinum pass holders. It features a bar, food and a balcony view of the Croissette. The brand will also be hosting a number of sessions such as ‘The Secrets Behind Content Marketing from LinkedIn’ and a drop-in profile page clinic.

Google Beach

Internet giant Google returns again to Cannes with its beachside activation. The experience is open all week and will host performances from YouTube stars, workout sessions, culinary events and tech demos.

Where: Gray D'Albion Beach and Plage Royale beach

Media service Shutterstock will pit designers against eachother in a high-speed challenge. Delegates are welcome to enjoy a drink and cheer on the competitors, while the winner will take home the Furious Pixel trophy and a €2,000 Visa gift card.
