Rockers break catering record at awards bash

The Shockwave NME Awards staged at Hammersmith Palais last month has been hailed as the west London venue's largest catered-for event during the venue's 86-year history.

Richmond Catering and staffing agency Esprit teamed up to serve food to 1,000 guests at the rock magazine's annual ceremony.

Hammersmith Palais was forced to install an extra generator for Richmond's kitchen appliances. Richmond Catering business development manager Val Payne said: "An increase in the number of live performers meant we needed a separate power supply."

Canegreen Commercial was responsible for the PA while Showsec provided security to the event.
