Charles Robinson has left his role as executive director of the Incentive Travel and Meetings Association (ITMA) in the midst of the uncertainty surrounding an alliance with the Corporate Event Association (CEA). After five years at the helm Robinson said: “My plans for the future aren’t definite at the moment and I plan to take some time out to recharge the batteries and see what opportunities exist. It would be a shame not to use the industry experience and knowledge that I’ve gained.” The ITMA and CEA announced their intention to create industry alliance Eventia in April, following more than a year of discussions. Robinson’s role has been given to head of communications Sarah Webster, who will oversee the ITMA secretariat until the Eventia board is finally structured.
