The Radio X Road Trip will aim to celebrate the radio brand's new national presence. Telecoms brand O2 will support the experiences by offering up its Academy and ABC venues, as well as offering tickets through its Priority scheme.

Organised in-house, the tour will see artists such as Stereophonics, Bloc Party and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds perform in Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham. The road show will run from 3 November until 8 December.

Chris Baughen, managing editor of Radio X, said: "We've created the Radio X Road Trip to bring the music and personality of Radio X to music fans in cities up and down the UK. We've got some great bands and artists who are going to perform at O2 venues and we've got Chris Moyles to host the whole thing.

"I'm looking forward to the next few months."

Ian Cafferky, head of marcomms at O2 UK, added: "We are delighted to be partnering with Radio X as it expands its reach to a national audience. This partnership builds on our heritage in music, as we will be sponsoring both The Chris Moyles Show and the Radio X Road Trip.

"The Radio X Road Trip will see some massive bands performing at O2 venues around the country and we will be giving O2 customers the chance to get Priority Tickets 48 hours before they go on sale to the public."

The Radio X Road Trip schedule:

  • 3 November - Stereophonics at O2 Academy Bristol
  • 9 November - Bloc Party at O2 ABC Glasgow
  • 23 November - Courteeners at O2 Academy Leeds
  • 2 December - Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Johnny Marr, Neon Waltz and Pretty Vicious at O2 Apollo Manchester
  • 8 December James Bay at O2 Academy 2 Birmingham
