The show, organised by Waypoint Exhibitions, has grown significantly since its debut in 1997 at G-Mex in Manchester. It moved to the NEC this year and attracted more than 200 exhibitors.

The show, which ran from 12-14 September, was co-located with REC's Total Marketing Solutions. Next year it will also run alongside a new event, the National Venue show.

'The move to the NEC was a major boost to the exhibition,' said Waypoint Exhibitions director Stephen Richards. 'Now, under the ownership of REC I believe that the business will move forward and capitalise on its strong position in the UK to eventually become one of Europe's leading sales promotions shows.'

The acquisition underlines REC's commitment to the world of promotions and incentives. Last year the company bought Incentive World.

REC managing director David Wood said: 'We are determined to ensure that the show will continue to demonstrate the excellent growth it achieved on moving to the NEC in 2000.'
