The event, now in its fifth year, and taking place in Botswana's capital city, Gaborone at the end of March, features runners across races of varying distances, including a marathon, a half marathon and a 10k and 4k run, with the aim of raising funds for global charities. The events agency has recruited 25 locals to assist with the project.
Anabel Fielding, chief executive and founder of Quintessentially Events, said: "We are thrilled to be producing the Diacore Gaborone Marathon for the second year in a row.
"Not only is the marathon the largest in Botswana but also aims to bring the community together through a wider sporting platform and we feel very lucky to be involved with such an amazing project and given the opportunity to support this."
