Locog is inviting firms from the private sector to supply the previously ditched ‘fabric wrap’ to be placed around the London 2012 Olympic Stadium at Games time.

The move comes as the stadium’s future post-Games appears to finally be coming a little more clear with reports suggesting West Ham will take over the venue and make it a dual football and athletics stadium. The decision, which will see Tottenham Hotspur miss out, is subject to approval by the Olympic Park Legacy Company.

The 80,000-seat Olympic Stadium is set to be the centrepiece of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, hosting many of the major events. Last year the wrap plan had been abandoned to ease budget concerns.

The opportunity to tender for the Stadium wrap is published on the London 2012 business opportunities website, CompeteFor, the deadline for expressions of interest by 18 February 2011.
