Pre-registrations strong for Monomax's Venues & Events

Monomax, the publisher of restaurant guide Square Meal, has announced pre-registration levels of over 500 visitors for its Venues & Events show, seven months ahead of its first foray into exhibitions. The show, to be held at Old Billingsgate from 21-22 September, is set to rival both London Venue Expo, at Excel from 29-30 June, and RSVP, which is being staged at Olympia from 6-7 April.

Venues & Events will take over the 7,700sq m Old Billingsgate and its organiser aims to attract 200 exhibitors. Over a dozen agencies will exhibit in the venue's basement and caterers are being encouraged to take space around the venue's upper levels. Venues already booked include Tower Bridge, The Barbican, the BA London Eye, 4 Hamilton Place and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

The show's event marketing manager Denise Kehoe said: "It really shows the strength of the Square Meal brand to have so many high calibre visitors registering to attend so far in advance of the show. To align the directory brand more closely with the event we will produce menus, rather like those in the guide, of the exhibiting venues and services according to key characteristics, such as waterfront venues, historic venues and venues for over 500 guests."

Monomax will also produce a virtual version of the show instead of a directory. The online exhibition will open on the final day of Venues & Events, adding to the show's longevity.
