The Power of Live series is a 12-month collaboration between the four brands, which will focus on a different topic throughout the period. Up until December it will focus on the role of social media in events.

The first of two live webinars, taking place at 11am on Wednesday 3 December, will hone in on tips to embed the right strategy to capitalise on live event content fused with social media.

The first webinar, called ‘Embedding The Right Social Strategy To Maximise Engagement’, will feature Alex Whitson, director of conferences, forums, digital events and video at Haymarket Business Media; David Chalmers, Cvent’s European marketing director; and Vincent Boon, co-founder and chief community officer at Telefonica Standing On Giants.

The second webinar, entitled ‘Amplifying The Social Experience At Every Touchpoint’, will go live at 3pm on the same day and will focus on how event professionals can create the most compelling, far-reaching social media experiences by amplifying live event content through these channels.

The panel for this webinar will include Emily Vera, social media team lead at Cvent; Emma Dahl, marketing communications specialist from staffing software business Peoplenet; Philip Smith, head of content solutions and studio at Haymarket Brand Republic Group; and Gordon Rutherford, head of marketing and e-commerce at AXA.

As part of the Power of Live’s latest focus, event professionals can take part in an online survey detailing their thoughts on whether social media and live events is a winning formula. A downloadable eBook has also been produced to coincide with the topic, offering a checklist to ensure users are making the most of social media within their own events.

A further social media expert report will be released in a couple of weeks.
