Agency PrettyGreen brought to life the John Lewis brand at London food and drink festival OnBlackheath last weekend (13-14 September).

On behalf of John Lewis, PrettyGreen created two branded hospitality spaces at the two-day festival, including The Hidden Heath – a dedicated VIP area featuring secret garden-style theming. This included animal grass sculptures created by Easigrass, as well as deckchairs, a dedicated bar and a private viewing platform for guests to watch the event’s main stage performances.

Within the space was a kids den where children could take part in craft activities and a beauty bar which offered free manicures and chocolates to guests. Caterer Big Green Egg served a selection of food for attendees to tuck into, including pulled pork sandwiches and slow cooked beef, while Snowflake handed out tubs of gelato.

John Lewis’ second branded hospitality space, My JL, was open to the brand’s members and offered them the opportunity to chill out during the day with free cups of tea from Teapigs, charge their mobile phones, and use a bar and toilets without having to queue.

Working in partnership with festival founder Harvey Goldsmith and the OnBlackheath teams, PrettyGreen was responsible for sourcing sponsors for the event, including Vita Coco, The One Brand, Jura, Adnams and Aperol Spritz.

Massive Attack, Grace Jones and Imelda May formed part of OnBlackheath’s music line-up, while chefs Gizzi Erskine, Valentine Warner and Jack Stein were among the culinary experts showcasing their skills in Erskine's dedicated chef's club.

Other highlights of the event included an urban arts workshop, where attendees could take part in DJ workshop sessions and learn how to freestyle rap, and a kids fun factory where younger festival-goers could take part in village fete-style games and hula-hooping classes.
