The evening was split into two halves, starting with a celebration in the atrium surrounded by a gigantic V2 rocket and a suspended spitfire plane and harrier jet. Music was provided by former Sade band member Andrew Hale, while Oliver Peyton and Barry Smith, assistant director of commercial, business and governance at IWM, welcomed the industry guests.
Caterers Peyton Events served a variety of canapés and bowl food on the night, including scallop ceviche with samphire and pickled ginger, beetroot and goat curd doughnut and Dorset crab with pea shoots and crème fraiche.
Following the speeches, guests were invited to a secret soirée on the new roof terrace designed by Foster + Partners. Great Hire provided contemporary furniture for the space transforming it into a cocktail lounge, while Sternberg Clarke provided entertainment in the form of Organic Jam, consisting of a DJ playing and mixing house music whilse musicians performed over the top.
The vibrant fuchsia and orange floral scheme was designed by Nikki Tibbles from Wild at Heart consisting of gold and white urns adorned with dahlias, hydrangeas and blooms.
Event production was supplied by Glo Productions who transformed the venue with colourful lighting and bespoke gobos.
Attendees were treated to vintage Champagne from Baron Fuentes, as well as a variety of cocktails including negronis, caiporinias, margharitas and vodka gimlets. Mocktails such as the ‘Soho’, consisting of agave syrup, pineapple and lemon juice served with fresh basil leaves and topped with ginger beer, were also available on the night.
To round off the evening, guests were treated to a range of desserts including orange blossom mousse with orange jelly and chocolate crumble as well as pear and autumn berry crumble with crème Anglaise.
