In pictures: A Palace for all Seasons at Banqueting House

Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) hosted its second annual showcase dinner for industry guests on Monday night (15 September) at Banqueting House in Whitehall, London.


Themed around the four seasons, guests arrived in the venue’s courtyard, featuring a spring garden with blossom trees designed by royal florist Simon J Lycett, and then moved into a herbaceous-lined undercroft where cocktails and late summer-inspired canapés were served by caterer Blue Strawberry.

Wise Productions transported guests from summer into autumn using a series of lighting and sound effects, as they were escorted up the grand staircase by hostesses from Mash Staffing, and into the Main Hall which featured cascading gold leaf projections.

Among the contemporary black and gold furniture provided by Great Hire, stood towering table centers created by Lycett. Cutture London created personalised menus for each guest, which complimented the bespoke Phenakistoscope invitations designed especially for the HRP showcase.

Blue Strawberry presented highlights from their autumn/winter menus for dinner, including sesame-crusted seared swordfish with meyer lemon gel and grilled beef with bone marrow and lobster ravioli. Ahead of the final courses the room was transformed from a golden glow to a wintery blue complete with falling snowflakes to complement the festive snowball dessert.

Entertainment, provided by Sternberg Clarke, included background music during dinner courtesy of vocalist Sewuese, as well as the main act - a debut performance by four-piece female a cappella group The Lips, a brand new vocal project from the founding member of The Boxettes and Female World Beatbox Champion Bellatrix.

Jennifer Walker, head of Banqueting House, said: "The aim of the evening was to showcase the Banqueting House as an all year round event space, whether clients are looking for a vibrant summer cocktail party or a Christmas ball, we have the expertise and some incredibly talented suppliers that can make it happen."
