Designed to celebrate rugby and send off the England Rugby team in the lead up to the Rugby World Cup, the event saw performances from Take That, Ella Eyre, Laura Wright, Andreya Triana and Collabro, who performed live over a three-hour period.
The event came to an end when the England Rugby team joined Take That on stage, offering attendees the chance to truly send off their sporting heroes. Other attendees included Jodie Kidd, Jack Whitehall and Richard Hammond.
In line with O2's Wear The Rose campaign theme, which focuses on leveraging the support of the nation to boost players before the Rugby World Cup, the stage appearance was designed to demonstrate to the team the support they have behind them.
Nina Bibby, marketing and consumer director at O2 said: "Wear The Rose Live combined two of O2’s passions, music and sport, to send the England Rugby team off in the best way we know how.
"It was a fantastic night at The O2 which saw 14,500 fans and Take That come together to give the ultimate demonstration of the power of support. This year, we’re calling on everyone to Wear the Rose and get behind the team. Join in and #WearTheRose."
Chris Robshaw, captain of the the England Rugby team added: "On behalf of the squad I want to thank the thousands of fans who came out to The O2 for Wear the Rose Live and showed their support for the team. The event was unlike anything we have experienced before and we really feel honoured to have been part of it.
"O2 have put together something special to galvanise support for the team. We have been training hard over the summer and want to do the country proud. Knowing that the nation is behind us gives us that extra boost."
