Named 'nest' the centre allows visitors to get acquainted with the Nestlé brand and its past as well as exploring current food challenges through interactive exhibits using the latest digital technologies.

It is split into five zones. The Piazza – a central atrium – features a life-size tree with 1,200 flowers made from Nestle packaging. An area called Foundations uses 19th century cinema techniques to showcase the early history of the company.

The two-storey Zeitgeist area links Nestlé’s products, images and stories to iconic moments in world history, while The Forum makes visitors conscious of the social challenges in nutrition and health. The final space, Visions, symbolises the future and communicates the passion of scientists and their creative innovations through a range of games and a virtual reality experience.

Construction of nest began three years ago, with the experience opening to the public on 15 June. The historic district of Vevey is where Henri Nestlé founded the brand in 1866 and established his first production plant.
