Picnic lovers descended on London's Somerset House for the Mercure Hotels free picnic in celebration of National Picnic Week on Friday (17 June).

The ‘Picnic with Mercure’ event, which was part of the hotel brand's partnership with National Picnic Week, saw actors Freddie Fox and Donna Air in attendance.

The event featured bespoke picnic hampers created by Tom’s Kitchen with homemade baguettes, classics like scotch eggs and desserts.

There was also wine tastings with experts Susie Barrie and Peter Richards, from BBC1’S Saturday Kitchen, live entertainment from acapella group AfterParty and giant board games.

Inge van Ooteghem, senior vice president of operations at Mercure Hotels, said: "Picnicking remains a hugely popular pastime for Brits during the summer months and we were thrilled to see so many people join us at Somerset House today."
