The Knightsbridge-based activation has been inspired by the automotive brand’s home - Japan. The space, which has been commissioned to celebrate the launch of the new RX SUV, aims to create an aura of peace atop the busy London streets.
Plants, furniture and lighting have all been used to transform the terrace into a branded venue with a rugged, outdoor feel.
The RX 450h hybrid is on display outside the London store for guests to see. The model is also being positioned outside stores in Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol throughout January.
A special cocktail menu has been created to reflect the qualities of the RX, which has been designed with omotenashi – the Japanese principle of welcoming hospitality - in mind.
Alcoholic and soft drinks are on offer, and include the Coco Go-Go, made with coconut flakes, water, cream and syrup with lemon juice and chilli, and the Oriental Blossom, comprised of vanilla-infused vodka, violet liqueur, lychee, lemon juice, orange foam, dried orange and edible flowers.
The Harvey Nichols Lexus RX Winter Garden Cocktail Menu is also available to sample at the department store’s other UK locations until 31 January, when the garden closes.
Marion Carpentier, group food and hospitality director at Harvey Nichols, said: "The Lexus RX Winter Garden offers a perfect retreat in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge. We’re excited to be partnering with Lexus to bring a unique winter garden experience and Japanese-themed menu to our customers."
