The latest offering was launched at the three-day Harrogate Bridal Show (7-9 September). Kudos, which began a new five-year contract with the venue in January, aims to offer a ‘grab-and-go’ supermarket-style service for exhibition visitors, alongside mobile bars and buffet stations.
Produce has been provided by local suppliers to provide flexible, sustainable and healthy choices, with 50% of products sourced within 20 miles of the venue. Smoked fish will come from Bleikers Smokehouse, tea from Taylors of Harrogate and sweet treats from Lottie Shaw’s.
Kudos has invested in three new fixed catering points, as well as a branded Piaggio Ape coffee cart and upgrades to the main on-site kitchen. It expects to generate more than £10m over the next contractual term.
Jon Pryce, managing director of Kudos, said: "We’re really excited about The Harrogate Market as it’s a great opportunity to showcase some of the region’s finest produce in a new and innovative retail environment. Our creative team have loved every minute of the project and it’s a great innovation with plenty of Kudos knowhow. We’re really looking forward to the next five years at the venue."
Simon Kent, director of HIC Yorkshire, added: "We wanted our new HIC retail brand to be high quality, sustainable and to showcase the fabulous local producers in the Harrogate area. The Harrogate Market brand has managed to encapsulate this vision and Kudos has delivered on their promise."
