In pictures: Inside Selfridges' forest-themed rooftop

Selfridges' London outpost opened the doors to its latest pop-up offering, Forest Restaurant and Bar on The Roof, on Wednesday (21 October).

Taking its inspiration from the autumnal forest, the new space takes over from the department store’s Vintage Salt offering, which popped up on the store's rooftop over the summer.

Narrow tree trunks line the walls of the main restaurant area, and fairy lights hang from the ceiling, transporting guests to an outdoor dining experience in the British countryside.

A number of private ‘rooms’, which resemble mini huts or country houses are also available. These are complete with soft throws and cushions, and country-inspired knick-knacks including deer antlers hang from the walls.

Foliage typical of the British forest is located at the entry point of each individual room, as well as in communal areas.

The menu showcases local produce, with the techniques of foraging and foresting employed to source and create the dishes on offer.

The pop-up, which is expected to remain in situ until the new year, also offers a range of Christmas-themed beverages, including the Fancy Nogg, Spicy Cane and Gingerbread Choctail.

The experience forms part of Selfridges' annual Destination Christmas experience, which this year operates in line with the 'Journey to the Stars' theme.

Anya Hindmarch recently created a pop-up petrol station in Selfridges' London car park, meanwhile last month the brand's Birmingham store hosted the Live + Loud event.
