The event, which took place at the Phillips Gallery in London, featured four live show areas and nine video and audio feeds, which streamed social media, presentation slides and live camera images. Broadsword, a full service technical event company, partnered with producers Momentum Events to work on UKTV Live for the third year running.
A star-studded line-up of acts formed part of the event’s programme including illusionist Dynamo, magician Katherine Mills, comedians Ross Noble, Ben Miller and Dave Gorman and TV broadcaster David Attenborough alongside a collection of live animals, former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff and actor Simon Callow.
Other highlights included cake demonstration from chocolate and bakery specialist Choccywoccydoodah, as well as an auction involding a team of people from TV show Storage Hunters. All acts were introduced live by the voice of Redd Pepper, known best for his voiceover work.
Martin Walton, creative director at Broadsword, said: "We decided to control all of the main areas from one central position. This meant devising a system that could run nine separate video and audio feeds at once; incorporating show reels, presentation slides, live tweets, auto-cue and live camera images - all of which had to start and stop at specific times and be broadcast to several different areas.
"We used our Dataton Watchout presentation system to give us the quality and flexibility we needed and it performed brilliantly as always, coupled with our great team of technicians of course."
