London's National Portrait Gallery was the setting for the launch

last month of Marks and Spencer's ten-month tour of artist David Mach's

work 'Portrait of a nation' (above). The collage, which is made up of

photographs submitted by 250,000 members of the public, was commissioned

by the ailing company for the new millennium. Hotcakes is managing the

tour, which it also devised. It kicked off last month and will end in

February 2002.
