Hunt revealed to Event that he officially resigned his position on Tuesday (28 October) to take a career break, beginning with a trip to Asia.

Kevin Jackson, vice president sales and marketing at GPJ EMEA, told Event: "Peter has been outstanding since joining GPJ two and a half years ago. He came to us as the winning Eventice and built up a fantastic relationship with all the teams across the agency before joining the sales and marketing department."

A successor will be announced shortly as Jackson confirmed that "the hunt for the new Hunt begins".

Hunt had been working at GPJ in the role of sales and marketing executive. Prior to this, he freelanced in the industry on events such as Beach Break Live, the Brit Awards and Hop Farm Festival. He graduated with a degree in event management from Cardiff University in 2012.

He secured a position with GPJ after winning The Eventice in 2012 alongside Abi Cozens, who went on to work for Tarsus Group. They beat ten other candidates to the title after a series of Apprentice-style challenges, tests and presentations at Confex.
