Organisers of the two-day extravaganza, billed as the world's greatest-ever international clan gathering, hired more than 120 separate structures from De Boer.
The assignment added to an ever-growing portfolio of contracts for the structure specialist, which works with major production companies and event organisers and which is a regular supplier to glitzy award ceremonies, product launches, film premieres, summer balls, Christmas parties and private celebrations.
The Gathering places international focus on De Boer
De Boer supplied more than 120 structures as tens of thousands of people from across the globe descended on Edinburgh for the spectacular debut of The Gathering.
The event, which was centred on the city's famous Holyrood Park, was billed as the greatest clan gathering the world has ever seen.
Representatives of 124 different clans - from more than 40 countries - travelled to Scotland to enjoy events including concerts, competitions, literary readings and a Highland Games.
As well as marking a major success for its organisers, The Gathering added to a spectacular portfolio of assignments for structure specialist De Boer.
The Brackley-based company has established an excellent working relationship with leading production companies and major event organisers as well as those arranging smaller, private celebrations.
Speaking on behalf of The Gathering's organisers, Iona Scott enthused: "It has been an amazingly successfully event and we have received many complimentary comments about the entire festival. The structures provided by De Boer were an integral part of the entire event creating a unique village atmosphere."
The Gathering, which counted Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall among its guests - added to an ever-growing list of successful contracts in Scotland for De Boer.
It also demonstrated the tremendous range and diversity of De Boer's stock, contrasting with another assignment in Edinburgh - at the MTV Europe Music Awards. On that occasion De Boer provided 16,500 square metres of accommodation including the huge New Galaxy structure, which at 107 by 60 metres offers space for up to 10,000 people.
The awards ceremony proved a glittering, star-studded success, as have the many international film premieres - from Disney to James Bond - to which De Boer has supplied structures.
The erection of temporary facilities for one recent 007 premiere - near to the historic Albert Memorial in central London - reflected the frequent demand from event organisers and production companies for De Boer to operate in high-profile or unusual locations.
At one motor manufacturer's launch, for the unveiling of a new BMW model in Dublin, De Boer's team even needed to erect structures on scaffolding in the middle of a dry dock - which was then flooded ahead of the arrival of special VIP guests and media.
