The bookmaker declared its Southgate Street shop in Gloucester as an open place for bagpipers, following World Cup chiefs’ decision to ban the divisive musical instrument from all stadiums across the tournament.
Paddy Power reported that a queue of tartan-laden fans congregated outside the retail outlet to enjoy the sound of bagpipes away from Kingsholm Stadium in Gloucester.
A representative from the brand said: "It’s no surprise the Scots got their kilts in a twist as quite frankly the ban blows – don’t get me wrong it’s bloody noisy in the shop, but we're just happy to have done our bit."
Paddy Power told Event it has no plans to roll out the activation across other Scotland games. Since the activation was devised, reports have emerged that the initial ban is to be partially lifted.
