Owen Brown in sale to French

Temporary structure company Owen Brown has been sold to French

events outfit Generale Location for an undislcosed sum. Owen Brown will

not be re-branded and no job losses will occur.



"It's a huge boost for the company and a great opportunity for all our

workforce," Owen Brown director Bill Preston said. "We look forward to

offering our customers a continuing high level of service with added

benefits."



Generale Location has been focusing on overseas operations for several

years and has worked with the organising committee of the Sydney

Olympics.



The firm predicts a 20% growth in business during 2001.



Owen Brown provided more than 23,000 sq m of tentage, VIP hospitality

pavilions and a set of structures for use as arrival and departure

lounges for the Heliport at the recent Fosters British Grand Prix.



Also at the event on 15 July was Arena Event Services Group. Arena

Structures supplied ancillary structures and an 800 sq m double decked

hospitality suite, Arena Scene provided The Vale Hospitality Complex and

Arena Seating installed 15,500 temporary seats.
