One Minute with...Jane Baker, 2Heads

Jane Baker, previously vice president of client services at FreemanXP, spoke to Event about her new role as commercial director of 2Heads.

What attracted you to 2Heads?

2Heads is an agency enjoying really exciting times. The company has evolved into a strategic creative agency that delivers outstanding work and has seen rapid growth. 

It’s evident to me that 2Heads has a very talented group of event marketing professionals within the team who want to challenge our clients to deliver engaging and intelligent brand experiences.

How will your role differ from your previous jobs?

My role at 2Heads is to lead global growth as well as to manage the marketing, sales, strategy and creative teams. 

It’s the most senior position I’ve held and it offers more scope to truly influence the commercial direction of the business across all of our locations. I am a part of the senior leadership team, reporting to the managing director and accountable to the shareholders.

What are you most looking forward to working on over the coming months?

I’m looking forward to meeting more of our clients and to seeing some of the projects we are delivering on their behalf. We’ve just delivered some very cool exhibition stands at [aviation convention] EBACE in Geneva and we are creating several hospitality pavilions at the Paris Air Show in June. 

We’re also working on live event brand standards for a major electronics client, a series of proprietary event technology solutions that we’ll be going to market with later this year. Plus we’ve been preparing for a very busy autumn delivering brand experiences for clients at MIPCOM in Cannes, SIBOS in Singapore and Global Gaming Expo G2E in Las Vegas.

How has your first week been?

My first week at 2Heads has been great fun. I’ve had some time to meet individually with my new colleagues to understand how they see the future of our business, which has been great for me. 

I’m also starting to formulate a short-term growth plan, as well as tackle some of the opportunities that need immediate support. I’ve worked with managing director Olivier Vallee before while we were at George P Johnson, so he knows I’m happy to dive into the deep end. 

Everyone has been really welcoming plus there’s always a good stash of sweets and cakes in the office, so that keeps me happy.
