The report from Prestige Ticketing, the official hospitality provider to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, values the earnings at an estimated £1.6 billion.

It also reveals that Olympic hospitality as a whole is set to exceed more than £3 billion.

Around 6.6 million Olympic tickets will go on sale to the British public and 2.2 million to international sports fans, NOCs, sponsors, international federations and other key stakeholders.

Prestige Ticketing chief executive Andrew Burton said: "Gone are the days when hospitality was seen as a marketing luxury. It is now an integral part of any company’s corporate and marketing strategy and can yield major major benefits for the organisations involved."
