O2 to continue England Rugby activation through "ups and downs"

O2 has confirmed it will continue its giant projection mapping project in support of England Rugby, despite the team's knock out of the Rugby World Cup on Saturday (3 October).

The activation, which was unveiled alongside a huge light show and operatic performance of Jerusalem on 14 September, allows England fans to tweet their messages of support to the team and have said messages projected on the roof of The O2 in London. It forms part of O2's overarching Wear the Rose campaign.

The telecoms brand and official sponsor said the venue would ‘come alive’ each time the side played, and has promised more surprises at the branded venue through to the tournament’s final on 31 October.

A spokesperson for O2 said: "Our Wear the Rose campaign is about the power of fan's support and we've seen five million acts of support since the campaign launched in February 2015. The projection on The O2 is a platform for that support and with one more game to go [on 10 October], that support will continue.

"We're here for the ups and the downs, this is what sport is all about. Wear the Rose will continue into 2016 and beyond."

They added: "As proud sponsor of England Rugby for 21 years, we remain committed to our partnership with RFU and the sport of rugby. We'll stand beside the team with the same spirit that rugby is watched, played and enjoyed."
