Nintendo fair makes debut

The Nintendo Show 2001 took place at Westminster Central Hall this

month.

The standalone show dedicated to the games console took place on 1 and 2

September after Nintendo of Europe pulled out of this year's interactive

entertainment exhibition ECT (Marketing Event, April).

The London event was designed to showcase the Nintendo GameCube and the

Game Boy Advance, together with a range of available software.

"Many previously unseen titles were premiered at gameplay sessions and

there were some major Pokemon announcements," said a Nintendo of Europe

spokesman. "This is a huge year for Nintendo and we have a lot to shout

about."

Visitors were also able to walk through a museum that follows the

evolution of Nintendo throughout its 112-year history.
