UBM Live has become one of the first exhibition organisers to achieve BS8901 self-certification, the British Standard for sustainable event management.
The live event specialist has been employing more sustainable ways of working and incorporating environmental and social issues across all its exhibitions, events and awards ceremonies.
Using lower carbon-emitting forms of transport and employing local food suppliers at awards ceremonies are just two examples of how UBM achieved the certification.
"We have done our very best to ensure all teams contribute to the sustainability of UBM Live," said group operations director Mirabelle Chatterjee, who has played a fundamental part in this green initiative.
"Substantial progress can be seen across all portfolios within the business, and we will strive to continue with our greener culture."
