David Quainton
Deputy editor
David started his journalism career a callow youth in the world of secure computing on a magazine called, coincidently, Secure Computing.
Keen to erase nightmares of ne'er-do-wells hacking into his PC he moved to PRWeek for nearly three years to study the world of spin and journalistic freebies . He joined Event as deputy editor in September 2008.
A keen Liverpool fan, he spends weekends worshiping at a shrine to Luis Suarez, inserting Oxford commas before the word "and", and timing how long it takes him to get out of a beanbag sofa.
When merely a ten year-old he saved his, then toddler, cousin from drowning in a pond teeming with ferocious goldfish. His mother accused him of pushing said cousin in. The issue has never been resolved.
