Bill Clinton will take to the stage at the London Hilton, Park Lane, on 30 October in a gala to help raise funds for the Lady Taverners charity.
The USA's 42nd president has recently scaled back his public apperances, but will speak for 40 minutes before being interviewed by Nixon Sir David Frost who is famed for his controversial interview with former US president Richard Nixon, depicted in recent film Frost/Nixon.
The event, sponsored by Robert Whitton's company Red Ownership, aims to make money for Lady Taverners, the youth sports and disability charity, part of the Lord's Taverners charitable trust.
Some 950 people are expected to attend the event, which is rumoured to feature entertainment from comedian Rory Bremner.
"We've decided to put on a very big event at the worst possible time economically," said Denise Horne , chairman of The Lady Taverners and co-organiser of the event with Onni Nordstrom and Sally Allen, of Unique Strategic Promotions.
"We're delighted to have Mr Clinton speaking, his public appearances are very limited now that Hilary Clinton is secretary of state. The theme of the party will be based around Red Ownership and the United States of America, so we expect a lot of flags and regalia."
