The quirky new venue, shaped like a cut of salmon, is just moments away from the 2012 Olympic Stadium

Where is it? In a peculiar, pink-coloured building shaped as a cut of salmon, situated on the River Lee. It's a hop, skip and a jump from the 2012 Olympic Stadium.

What is it? A new venue housing H.Forman & Son, Britian's oldest salmon smokers, and mail-order food company Forman & Field. Forman's on Fish Island will officially open for events when it launches this Friday, but don't worry, there isn't a whiff of fish to be found anywhere.

What's it got? The building incorporates two floors, both of which have lift access, separate entrances, lavatories and exclusive kitchens. The first floor boasts views of the stadium and can hold 120 guests for a seated dinner, 130 theatre-style or 220 standing. The second floor also has views of the Olympic site, as well as up-to-the-minute staging, sound and AV equipment installed by Hawthorns. It can cater for 400 theatre-style, 500 for dinner or 650 for a reception. A new 50-cover restaurant will also open in February.

Who do I talk to? Lance Forman on (020) 8525 2399 or Arthur Somerset on (0160) 0860387
